Author Bio
Shauna Alderson is a multi-passionate author, musician, and energy healer. She is the author of Paragon (young adult fantasy) and A Heroine, Complete (poetry). She was a 2022 recipient of the Canada Council of the Arts grant for her latest work, Blood & Crystal.
When not creating, Shauna can usually be found growing too many indoor plants, exploring all things metaphysical, and obsessing over K-pop. She currently lives in Alberta, Canada, with her family and rampant imagination.

- I wrote my first poem (“Bad Day”) when I was five-ish and my first novel when I was eleven
- My favourite book is probably “Going Bovine” by Libba Bray
- I like to compose amateur piano music (check out my Youtube account here)—someday I’d love to work with a music producer!
- I could live off of Studio Ghibli movies and Avatar: The Last Airbender
- I was one belt away from becoming a black belt in Tae Kwon Do before I stopped
- I’m certified as a master energy healer, although I don’t consider myself an expert by any means
